Thief makes off with cash and gaming items after breaking into Vernons residence on Saturday morning

The Police are investigating a burglary that occurred at a Vernons residence on the weekend.

Reports say the homeowner notified the Parham Police Station that the house had been broken into and a number of items were stolen, including money.

This offence reportedly occurred sometime between 4:20 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 15.

Reportedly, the perpetrator gained entry through a push-up window in the living room, from which he removed a screen, and inserted a hand to unlock the door.

Allegedly, the intruder then stole $350 in cash from a purse that was on the dining table; a pack of blue dominoes and a pack of playing cards; and one pair of slippers.

A search was carried out in and around the immediate area for the stolen items, but nothing was found, according to reports.
