UPP will stage ‘Pre-Independence Family Fun Day’ at Ffryes as social activity for supporters and candidates
Plans are underway for the United Progressive Party’s “Pre- Independence Family Fun Day,” slated for Sunday, October 30, at Ffryes Beach.
Traditionally, to celebrate Independence, the Party would host a banquet at the Sandals Grande Antigua Resort.
However, given the high energy among supporters ahead of its election campaign, the Party prefers to have an opportunity for supporters and Candidates to mix and mingle, says UPP Chairman D.Gisele Isaac, and so the event was changed.
The Women’s Forum, organizers of the beach lime, is encouraging supporters to bring along their picnic baskets and coolers; and Isaac is also urging vendors who make traditional food to come and ply their trade.
The Chairman says the event will be a good family experience – with fellowship and music –and so she would love to see people of all ages turn out to Ffryes Beach.
In order to accommodate church-goers, she says, the Women’s Forum has decided that the event will begin at 12 noon.
