Lifting of State of Emergency and curfew will not affect restrictions on large gatherings, Tabor reminds residents
Because of the new Omicron variant, the Cabinet may have to reconsider lifting the State of Emergency (SOE) and curfew. But whenever the actual lifting takes place, residents will still be restricted in terms of large gatherings, cautions attorney-at-law Charlesworth Tabor.
Many people are looking forward to December 23, the scheduled date of the lift, and saying they cannot wait to get back to “normal life.”
However, Tabor says that no large gatherings – including political meetings – are likely to be held; and, under the Regulations, the Government could make events like these illegal.
The only change that lifting the SOE and curfew will bring is that persons will be able to move about freely, he says.
