The Office of the Chief Health Inspector — Central Board of Health is calling on family members of a deceased Grays Farm Village resident to come forward and make funeral arrangements before the government is compelled to intervene.
The Central Board of Health advises that Ms. Silvie Martin of Grays Farm Village passed away on April 4, 2026. Her body is currently being held in storage at Barnes Funeral Home on American Road, St. John's.
Family members are asked to contact Ms. Jessica Barnes, Managing Director of Barnes Funeral Home Limited, at 462-1037 to make arrangements for a private burial as a matter of urgency.
The Central Board of Health has issued a formal notice that failure to make the necessary arrangements within fourteen days of the publication of this advertisement will result in the Government taking appropriate action to have the remains of the deceased interred at a Public Cemetery without any further notice. The notice further states that legal action after burial would not be an option.
