A Tyrells man is before the courts today after police arrested and charged him in connection with the early-morning break-in at a Lower All Saints Road store last month — a case in which police caught the suspects red-handed and recovered all of the stolen goods on the scene.

Police have arrested and charged 34-year-old Tristan Armstrong of Tyrells in connection with a break-in at Turki and Son Store on Lower All Saints Road. Armstrong has been charged with Breaking and Entering and Larceny, Malicious Damage, Resisting Arrest, and Escaping Lawful Custody.

What Happened on May 29

The charges stem from an incident reported on May 29, when police responded to a report of a break-in in progress at Turki and Son Store on Lower All Saints Road. Several items were allegedly stolen from the store, including eleven 43-inch JVC televisions, one 32-inch Royal television, two power drills, one vacuum cleaner, and one tool kit. All of the items were subsequently recovered by police.

The recovery of all stolen goods at the scene was a direct result of the police response that night, which arrived while the break-in was still in progress — a swift reaction that prevented what could have been a significant loss for the business.

The additional charges of Resisting Arrest and Escaping Lawful Custody indicate that Armstrong did not go quietly and that officers had to contend with active resistance before bringing him into custody.

A Word of Caution for Business Owners

The Police Administration expressed sincere gratitude to members of the public for their continued support and cooperation in assisting law enforcement efforts. Business owners were also advised to improve security at their establishments by investing in adequate lighting, surveillance systems, and other crime prevention measures.

Armstrong was expected to appear before the court on Monday to answer to the charges.
