Armed Robbery

The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda is appealing to the public for information following a brazen armed robbery at a private residence in Carty's Hill on Thursday afternoon.

Around 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, three masked male intruders dressed in dark clothing and allegedly armed with handguns entered the property and robbed the female occupant of her mobile phone, a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) system, along with a safe containing an undisclosed sum of money and several rounds of ammunition.

No injuries were reported in connection with the incident, and the suspects fled the scene following the robbery.

The Police Force's Office of Strategic Communications confirmed that investigations are actively ongoing. Anyone with information that may assist in identifying the perpetrators is being urged to contact the Parham Police Station at 463-2060, the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913/3914, or to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 800-TIPS (8477).

The incident comes amid growing public concern over home invasions in Antigua, following a separate attack on an elderly couple in Liberta earlier this week.

In the wake of Thursday's robbery, the Police Force has issued a fresh call for residents to strengthen their home security. Homeowners are being encouraged to ensure all doors and windows are properly secured, install adequate exterior lighting and security cameras, keep valuables and cash out of plain sight, avoid sharing travel plans or information about possessions on social media, and promptly report any suspicious persons, vehicles, or activities in their communities.
