Dozens of workers at Jolly Beach Resort engaged with union officers this week as part of a scheduled workplace visitation aimed at addressing employee concerns and reviewing the provisions of their Collective Bargaining Agreement — a visit that also carried timely news about an upcoming wage improvement.
ABWU President and Senior Industrial Relations Officer Kem Riley led the engagement, meeting with resort workers to discuss workplace issues and ensure that employees are fully aware of the protections and entitlements available to them under their collective agreement.
Riley also used the occasion to remind workers of a pending wage increase of EC$0.50 on the hourly rate, effective July 1, 2026 — a boost that will take effect in a matter of days and adds to the package of benefits the ABWU has been working to secure for workers across Antigua and Barbuda's hospitality sector.
The Jolly Beach visit forms part of the ABWU's ongoing commitment to maintaining an active presence in the workplaces it represents — not merely at the bargaining table, but on the ground among the workers whose interests the union exists to protect.
