Plans underway for mango and pineapple festival 2022, with art, craft and natural beauty products joining this year’s display

Mango season is in full swing, with a lot of the produce again going to waste on some farms.

However, in order to avoid this waste and get greater utility out of the crop, the Ministry of Agriculture is making preparations to host the PiAngo Fest 2022.

Agro-processed products featuring the wide variety of mangoes will be on display, as well as pineapple products.

Registration for what has become an annual event is currently underway and expected to close on Thursday, July 28, at midday. Vendors who wish to take part will be required to pay a registration fee of $80, which is inclusive of the 20’ x 20’ spot they will be allocated.

Forms can be collected and then submitted at the reception desk at the Ministry of Agriculture Headquarters on Independence Drive.

Persons in Barbuda who wish to be a part of this year’s festival may contact Gloria Cephas at 720-1960 for registration forms.

This year, vendors will include arts and crafts and natural beauty/cosmetic traders, among many others, organisers say.

Vendors will also have a chance to participate in a few events that will take place at the Fest, such as the agro-processing competition; the mango and pineapple competition; and even a grill competition.

PiAngo Fest 22 will be held on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14, August, at the Cades Bay Agricultural Station in Old Road under the theme, “PiAngo Reloaded.”
