Hit-and-run in Falmouth Harbour leaves Guadeloupe visitor in serious condition; police appeal for information on incident

A Guadeloupe national who remains hospitalized at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre is in a very serious condition after being struck down by a vehicle, and Police continue to probe the alleged hit-and-run incident.

The Frenchman – who is here to participate in the Antigua and Barbuda Fishing Tournament – was struck by a black vehicle at about 10:50 p.m. on Sunday night, June 5, in Falmouth Harbour, not far from the marina.

Reports say the car ran the man over, but the driver did not stop.

Therefore, the Police are making an appeal for information that would assist in bringing the perpetrator to justice.

Anyone who might have witnessed the incident, or who has information that could possibly shed light on what is being termed “a horrible tragedy,” should contact the nearest police station.

Additionally, area businesses with CCTV cameras are asked to review their footage, since they might have captured the incident and, more importantly, the vehicle’s registration number.
