Fisherman wounded during altercation with vessel mate; Bendals man being sought to assist in police investigation

Police are investigating a wounding incident that occurred at the West Bus Station on Tuesday night, May 3.

A video in circulation shows a group of people looking on as ambulance workers treat the reported victim – a 42-year-old fisherman – on the scene.  Two onlookers are also heard discussing the injuries the Golden Grove man sustained.

While reports say they were inflicted by a spear gun, the Police have confirmed only that the man is nursing a chest wound made by a sharp object, following an alleged altercation with another male.

The fisherman is said to own and operate a boat in the area, and reports claim that he was assaulted by a man who works on the said vessel.

The wounded man was transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre by the Emergency Medical Services and was treated there.  His injury is said to be not life-threatening.

Reports say a Bendals man is being sought by the Police in connection with the investigation.
