The wealth gap has widened, and the poor have gotten poorer under the current administration, Senator Lewis says
Senator Richard Lewis, the United Progressive Party (UPP) Candidate for St. John’s Rural West, says the economic gap between the rich and the poor has widened under the Gaston Browne Administration over these past eight years.
Lewis notes that Browne has failed to fulfill a promise – made several years ago – to address the wealth gap.
He says this has significantly affected the country’s economic growth, especially relating to equity between small, medium and large businesses.
The Government has been widely accused of not doing anything to help the young, the pensioners, the farmers and other vulnerable groups even as it continues to boast of impressive growth before and since the pandemic.
