CARICOM Heads to discuss wide range of issues, starting tomorrow, during 33rd inter-sessional meeting in Belize

Prime Minister Gaston Browne is expected to join other CARICOM Heads of Government on Tuesday, March 1, to deliberate on several major issues, including the region’s post-pandemic economic recovery.

The Heads are expected to gather on San Pedro in Belize for their 33rd Inter-Sessional Meeting, which will run until March 2,

Under the Chairmanship of Prime Minister John Antonio Briceño of Belize, the meeting is also expected to address advancing the implementation of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME); Haiti’s political impasse and its security and socio-economic challenges; the regional security situation; the CARICOM Agri-Food systems agenda; and climate change.

Following the Inter-Sessional Meeting, the Heads will join their Central American counterparts for the Fourth CARICOM-SICA summit on March 3, also in San Pedro, Belize.
