So far, no children negatively affected by use of recalled infant formulas, Consumer Affairs Press Officer reports

Joanne Peters, Press information Officer for the Prices and Consumer Affairs Division, says that the Division has received a number of phone calls from concerned parents over the recall of powdered infant formula manufactured by Abbott Nutrition.

The Division issue an alert on Monday, February 21, advising parents not to use certain batches of Similac, Alimentum or EleCare powdered infant formulas.

Since then, Peters says, parents have contacted the Division expressing some level of concern for the safety of their children.

Fortunately, she adds, no parent has indicated that their child has experienced any negative symptoms as a result of using the recalled formulas.

Parents who wish to determine whether the products in their homes are included in this recall are advised to visit the site similacrecall.com and type in the code on the bottom of the package.
