Second breach of airport-security procedures alleged, and Wehner places responsibility at Minister Benjamin’s door

Allegations of a second breach of border security at the V.C. Bird International Airport are being reported by George Wehner, Mobilization Officer for the United Progressive Party (UPP).

This time, Wehner says, the occupants of a West Jet aircraft reportedly were not landed by Immigration, but taken by private vehicles through Gate 7 and off the airport compound.

This incident, he alleges, occurred shortly after dusk.

Again, Wehner is suspicious of what might have been brought into the country, and he blames the Minister responsible for National Security, Steadroy “Cutie” Benjamin, for this breach of the safety protocols.

The first reported side-stepping of Immigration and Customs procedures took place on Wednesday, February 16, after a private plane carrying 11 Middle Easterners landed here.
