COVID-19 infections reach mid-teen figures, but without hospitalizations

There are no COVID-19 hospitalizations at present, even though 15 new lab-confirmed cases of the virus have been reported over a two-day period.

The Ministry of Health’s most recent dashboard does not indicate whether the cases are imported or domestic; however, they were realized from 402 samples processed at the hospital and are for Friday, December 10, and Saturday, December 11.

Thirteen of the cases were recorded on Friday and two on Saturday.

Accordingly, the total number of lab-confirmed virus infections in Antigua and Barbuda is 4,177, inclusive of 27 active cases.

Meanwhile, the country has fully vaccinated 57,888 individuals, and 4,033 have received their first dose.

Booster shots for those who have been fully vaccinated are expected to commence shortly, the authorities say.
