Water-truck services are provided by private citizen for free, Fire Chief says
Fire Chief Elvis Weaver says that investigations continue into the fire that gutted a store in the Newgate House Building on Monday, December 6.
The exact cause of the blaze is yet to be determined, but Weaver says the Fire Department is looking into every possibility at this time.
In explaining why a private truck was used to transport water to the scene, the Chief says the current fire tender does not carry a lot of water.
Therefore, he says, the Department usually collaborates with Maulvins Trucking to increase its capacity to put out fires. The private citizen offers his services for free, Weaver says.
