Virus cases continue climb and are now nearing 3,600, according to latest dashboard

The country’s COVID-19 cases are nearing 3,600, with 63 new lab-confirmed infections as of Monday, October 4.

These cases were among 89 samples processed at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre and 158 at the Caribbean Public Health Agency.

Therefore, Antigua and Barbuda’s total lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases stand at 3,581, and there are 1,125 active cases.  Ministry of Health officials say there have been 54 recovered cases, increasing that total to 2,369.

At present, there are 49 hospitalized cases; four of which are severe.  Thirty-three people are fighting mild symptoms of the virus while 12 have moderate symptoms. 

Meanwhile, Antigua and Barbuda has fully vaccinated 43,648 individuals; another 10,088 have received only their first dose.
