PRIVATE SCHOOL REVERTS TO ONLINE LEARNING FOR TWO CLASSES ON ACCOUNT OF COVID -19 EXPOSURE BY SIBLINGS
Another school, this time a private institution, has been forced to move at least two grades to online classes due to a COVID-19 exposure.
A notice to parents, from the Administration of Baptist Academy, advises that there is a confirmed case of the virus in the Grade 4 class.
That student also has a sibling in the Kindergarten 5 class.
Therefore the decision was taken to have both classes revert to remote learning as of today (May 6). However, other classes will continue with face-to-face learning.
Parents were informed that they would be updated further if there are any changes, as the school seeks to protect the school population and families.
In the meanwhile, Golden Grove Primary School closed its doors last week after a student was placed in isolation with a high temperature.
The school reportedly has undergone deep cleaning and sanitization in the meanwhile, as the students continue with the remote learning platform.
Schools across Antigua and Barbuda reopened fully on April 19. The upper grades and forms had returned to school the week prior (April 12) in preparation for upcoming exams.
